The Humber Arboretum first opened in 1977 and it works hand in hand with the city of Toronto. It is located in the North campus of Humber College. It consists of bird watching, hiking and cycling. It is a safe place as it is fenced so that students, visitors or animals are not harmed. The Arboretum also offers different types of programs such as: Birthday parties, Summer Nature Camps, Winter Camps, Teacher workshops etc. The half day programs starts from $6 and full day Programs are from $12 and for the program to take place they need a minimum of 20 students/visitors. As the site is very eco-friendly the building is also built in a eco friendly way. The building consists of sustainable design elements and green technologies. For example: They have solar heat sources, water conserving toilets, natural cooling and ventilating.
